Ej Emery is a defenseman for the University of North Dakota and a 2024 first-round pick (30th overall) by the New York Rangers. As a freshman in 2024–25 he appeared in 31 games, posted a +3 rating, blocked 29 shots, and earned NCHC Academic All-Conference honors. Emery starred with the U.S. NTDP and at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship, where he recorded six assists in seven games to help the United States win silver and finished the 2023–24 season with a +54 rating across competitions. A mobile, puck-moving defenseman with a strong penalty-kill presence, Emery pairs international experience with rapid college development.
