Born in Calgary, Alberta. Played minor hockey in Calgary growing up before moving to Penticton to play junior hockey.

Was drafted 48th Overall to the Ottawa Senators in 2018 before heading to North Dakota for my freshman season. I spent 2 seasons at North Dakota before transferring to Nebraska at Omaha for 3 years.

After my college career I signed with the Toronto Marlies on a 2 year contract where I played in the ECHL and AHL in the Leafs organization.

After my two year contract I decided to sign with Djurgården IF in Stockholm, Sweden. Djurgården is one of the oldest and most well known teams in all of Sweden.

About Jonny Tychonick

Born in Calgary, Alberta, he developed his game in Calgary’s minor system before relocating to Penticton for junior hockey. Drafted 48th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2018, he then spent two seasons at the University of North Dakota before transferring to Nebraska–Omaha for three years. After college, he signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Marlies, splitting time between the AHL and ECHL within the Maple Leafs organization. He then moved overseas, joining Djurgårdens IF in Stockholm, one of Sweden’s oldest and most storied clubs. This summer, he agreed to terms with HK Spišská Nová Ves in Slovakia for the 2025–26 season.
